Oreo-flavored items are sweetening menus.
Krispy Kreme is the latest chain to launch a limited time offering inspired by April 8’s total solar eclipse. The new LTO features an original glazed donut, dipped in black chocolate icing, topped with silver sprinkles, Oreo-flavored buttercream, and a whole Oreo cookie.
Sonic Drive-In added several Oreo-flavored products, including the Oreo Big Scoop cheesecake sundae and blast. The sundae features Oreo cookie pieces on top of a vanilla soft serve base, while the blast features vanilla soft serve with cheesecake flavoring and Oreo cookie pieces. Both options are topped with a scoop of Oreo cheesecake.
Papa Johns launched its new Crispy Cuppy ‘Roni menu platform, which will be available for a limited time. The launch includes three options starring cuppy pepperoni, including a New York-style pizza, a Papadia and Papa Bites.
“We’re always looking for fresh ways to show up for pizza lovers and what better way to honor their pizza devotion than a lineup of cupping pepperoni menu items like no other,” said Kimberly Bean, senior vice president of menu strategy and product. “The Crispy Cuppy ‘Roni platform is dedicated to all pepperoni fans — as we know they crave pepperoni in new and unexpected ways.”
Tim Hortons, USA expanded its sweet treat options with the introduction of Dream cookies. The new line of cookies includes a variety of flavors like Reese’s Minis and pecans, M&M’s Minis and Rocky Road, which features pecans, marshmallows and chocolate.
“Our Dream cookies are a perfect treat to pair with an iced coffee during your next visit to Tims, or a great reason to make a special trip to pick up something to share and enjoy with family and friends,” said Holly Ramsden, vice president of marketing at Tim Hortons US.
Fried chicken chain KFC introduced saucy nuggets, which are available in five flavors at its locations nationwide. The white meat chicken nuggets are available in three new sauces, honey sriracha, Korean BBQ, sweet ‘n sour, and two returning sauces, Nashville hot and Georgia gold.
“We’ve entered the sauce chat,” said Nick Chavez, chief marketing officer, KFC US “Our KFC nuggets — made from 100% white meat chicken and hand-breaded with KFC's secret recipe of 11 herbs and spices — dripping with these sauces create an unmatched flavor experience, with something for every palate.”
Noodles & Company is bringing back its steak stroganoff dish for a limited time. The returning item features wavy egg noodles in a mushroom sherry cream sauce, with herbs, cracker pepper, roasted mushrooms and topped with marinated steak, Parmesan cheese and Italian parsley.
“We’re proud to reintroduce this beloved dish, rich in flavor and nostalgia, as part of our commitment to bringing extraordinary food experiences to our guests,” said Stacey Pool, chief marketing officer at Noodles & Company. “Our menu boasts an array of fan-favorite dishes, but steak stroganoff has built a devoted following over the years. Zaxby’s is adding shrimp to its menu for the first time as its latest limited time offering. The Southern fried shrimp features butterflied shrimp that has been breaded with garlic and onion powders, seasoned with pepper and buttermilk and fried. The LTO will be served with “Zaxtail” sauce, a blend of the brand’s Zax sauce and cocktail sauce.
“We're taking America's most popular seafood and giving it our own unique spin — the 'ZaxSeas' way, as we call it,” said Patrick Schwing, chief marketing and strategy officer at Zaxby’s. “Our new Southern fried shrimp delivers the premium quality our Zax fans expect — generously seasoned and fried to crispy golden perfection, paired with the zesty kick of Zaxtail Sauce. It is truly a one-of-a-kind sauce for a one-of-a-kind shrimp.”
Red Lobster Seafood Co. is launching its first-ever Cheddar Bay breadsticks, a new version of its Cheddar Bay biscuits.
“We’ve won over the hearts and stomachs of our guests for more than 30 years with Cheddar Bay biscuits and it got us thinking — why isn’t there more Cheddar Bay in the world,” said Sara Bittorf, chief experience officer at Red Lobster. “So, we’re introducing a whole new level of ‘dough-liciousness’ to the table and have no doubt our new Cheddar Bay breadsticks will rise to the occasion.”
