Camire to president-elect at AACC International

ST. PAUL, MINN. — AACC International recently announced the results of its 2007-08 officer election.

Mary Ellen Camire was named president-elect. Ms. Camire is a professor in the University of Maine Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition. A member of the AACC International for the past 19 years, Ms. Camire has chaired the nutrition division and the membership and book committees. Currently she is a member of the board of directors and finance committee.

She also has been a member of the barley technical committee, publications panel, and publications task force.

AACC International also announced Maureen Olewnik was elected director. Ms. Olewnik is vice-president of audit and technical services at AIB International in Manhattan, Kas. In that role, she is responsible for cereals-related research activities, food labeling and food safety audit services.

Ms. Olewnik has been a professional member of AACC International since 1981 and has served on various committees, including cereal chemistry and the milling and baking division. She also was chair of the check sample committee.
