Ovens to c.m.o. of Taco Bell

IRVINE, CALIF. — David Ovens has been named chief marketing officer of Taco Bell Corp. with the responsibility of heading up food marketing, brand planning and communications, consumer insights, media services and entertainment, public relations, and field marketing.

Mr. Ovens will begin the new position on Aug. 6, and he is currently chief marketing officer for Yum! Restaurants International SOPAC. He has been with YRI since 2001.

Mr. Ovens is taking over for Bill Pearce, who left the company to start a business in medical technology. Before Mr. Ovens joined Yum!, he worked in marketing capacities for companies such as Unilever, Kimberly Clark and Johnson & Johnson.
