Ohly Americas created with merger

HAMBURG, GERMANY — ABF Ingredients Ltd. is merging its Provesta Flavor Ingredients with business of Hamburg-based Deutsche Hefewerke GmbH and will change its name to Ohly Americas. The merger takes effect July 1. Provesta, with operations in Hutchinson, Minn., and Boyceville, Wis., and D.H.W. operated complementary specialty yeast businesses. Both companies were acquired by ABF Ingredients in 2004. ABF said the combination will allow "an enhanced focus on production, development and distribution of specialty ingredients for savory food and nutrition markets." ABF said Provesta’s product lines will continue to be produced "under the same specifications and at the same location." ABF Ingredients, a division of Associated British Foods, is based in London. Other ABF Ingredients companies include AB Enzymes, ABITEC, PGP International, Proteol and Protient.
