Ray Murphy, industry executive, to head Casa de Oro

LOUISVILLE, KY. — E. Ray Murphy has joined Casa de Oro L.L.C. as chief executive officer.

For the past six years, Mr. Murphy has been vice-president and general manger of McKee Foods Corp. in Stuart’s Draft, Va. Earlier, he was at Austin Quality Foods in Cary, N.C., for 12 years.

Mr. Murphy joined Austin as vice-president of manufacturing and was promoted to senior vice-president of sales and marketing. He was president and chief operating officer of Austin and an officer of Keebler Foods when The Kellogg Co. acquired Keebler.

Earlier, Mr. Murphy was at Pepperidge Farms, Inc. as a business unit controller in the frozen foods group and as an operations manager in Downingtown, Pa.

A graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical University with a bachelor of science degree in accounting, Mr. Murphy has a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin.

Casa de Oro is a portfolio company of Plaza Belmont Management Group, L.L.C., Shawnee Mission, Kas. In his new position, Mr. Murphy will report to Robert J. Parnow, president of Plaza Belmont.
