SEATTLE — Peter van Stolk, chairman and chief executive officer of Jones Soda Co., announced he will step down from both positions at the end of the year. He will remain on the company’s board of directors.

Two members of the company’s board of directors — Scott Bedbury and Steve Jones — will take over the interim positions of chairman and c.e.o., respectively, while the company conducts a search for a permanent replacement.

"I’ve worked hard this past year to lay the foundation for future growth with an increased product line and national distribution at the retail level," Mr. van Stolk said. "Recruiting a strong and seasoned c.e.o. is the next step in that process, and utilizing the experience of Scott and Steve in that effort will help ensure a successful outcome.

Mr. Bedbury is currently c.e.o. of Brandstream, Inc., an independent brand development consultancy he founded in 1998. Earlier, he was with Nike and Starbucks.

Mr. Jones spent 17 years at The Coca-Cola Co., most recently as chief marketing officer and c.e.o. of The Minute Maid Co.
