BATTLE CREEK, MICH. — Hydrox chocolate cream cookies, originated by the Sunshine Biscuit Co. in 1908 and eventually eliminated by The Kellogg Co. in 2003 after failing to match the sales success of Kraft Foods Inc.’s Oreo cookie, were reintroduced this week. According to Kellogg, the reintroduction reflects "impassioned consumer demand" and comes in honor of the cookie’s 100th anniversary this year. The cookies, which have been reformulated to contain zero grams of trans fat, will be available nationally at a suggested retail price of $3.19 for a 14-oz package.
