RANDOLPH, MASS. — Richelieu Foods, Inc., a store brand and contract packing maker of frozen pizzas, salad dressing, sauces, marinades, condiments and deli salads, has acquired the sauces and dressings business from Sara Lee Foodservice.

The transaction, which was completed on Aug. 30, included salad dressing, mayonnaise and barbeque sauce made by Sara Lee for national restaurant and food service distribution customers, as well as the company’s manufacturing facility in Elk Grove Village, Ill. It did not include the company’s retail sauce and dressing products.

Richelieu will become a manufacturer of the Sara Lee Foodservice DSD Coffee network.

"This is a transformational acquisition for Richelieu," said Vincent Fantegrossi, president and chief executive officer of Richelieu Foods. "We are now able to provide an expanded product line to all our customers, new packaging formats and greater manufacturing capacity and flexibility throughout our customer base."

Richelieu has manufacturing facilities in Grundy Center, Iowa; Beaver Dam, Wis.; and Washington Courthouse, Ohio. The company has annual sales of approximately $200 million.
