Lofto to head J.R. Simplot Agribusiness Group

BOISE, IDAHO — Garrett Lofto has been named president of the J.R. Simplot Co. Agribusiness Group. He succeeds Bill Whitacre, who earlier this year was named chief executive officer-elect of the Jr. Simplot Co.

Mr. Lofto joined J.R. Simplot in 1992 as a crop adviser for the Morris, Manitoba, area. Since then, he has held various leadership positions in the Agribusiness Group, including his most recent role as vice-president of wholesale sales.

He received a bachelor’s of science degree in agriculture from the University of Manitoba, Canada, and a master’s of business administration from the University of Phoenix.
