FORT ATKINSON, WIS. — McCain Foods USA on Monday said it will eliminate the specialty foods division at its Fort Atkinson plant by the end of the summer, a move that will cut 126 positions. The division produces cheese, zucchini, mushrooms and other foods for McCain. While an onion division is expected to remain open in Fort Atkinson, the specialty foods lines are expected to be transferred to other McCain Foods plants.

The company pointed to the slowdown in the economy and decrease in demand from restaurants as factors behind the closing.
