BATON ROUGE, LA. — Louisiana Food Co. has signed a letter of intent to acquire Mossy Bayou Foods, a specialty food manufacturer based in South Louisiana with regional distribution.

Louisiana Food Co. had interest in acquiring the company based on its South Louisiana-inspired family of products, including Louisiana Swamp Scum Hot Sauce.

“Our company intends to develop and acquire product lines that are distinctive and relevant to the South Louisiana food scene, and we see huge potential for the Mossy Bayou products,” said David Loflin, president. “We believe that the Mossy Bayou products will fit well in our national distribution program.”

Louisiana Food Co. makes a variety of products, including coffee, pasta, rice and Jumbalaya mixes.
