Caravan hires Johnston as product category manager

LENEXA, KAS. — Carrie Johnston has been named product category manager at Caravan Ingredients. Ms. Johnston will be part of the company’s new product management team and will be responsible for the development of category growth strategies within the bakery mixes and bases category. Her responsibilities will include leadership of cross functional teams and projects that go through the innovation process and serve as a commercial assessment filter for customer driven new product development.

Ms. Johnston has 15 years of experience in the food industry. She has held brand and category management positions with Tyson Foods and Willow Brook Foods and most recently was brand manager with AdvancePierre Foods.

Ms. Johnston received a master’s degree in business administration from Drury University in Springfield, Mo.

“Carrie’s experience with platform management work will help us as we strive to bring greater focus to our new product development process and work to grow our bakery mixes and bases category,” said Brent Miller, product management director for Caravan Ingredients.
