Hain Celestial to acquire raw juice maker

MELVILLE, N.Y. — The Hain Celestial Group, Inc. has entered an agreement to acquire lifestyle brand BluePrint, a maker of raw, organic cold-pressed fruit and vegetable juices. The company, which is based in New York City, was founded by Zoe Sakoutis and Erica Huss.

“We are pleased to be expanding into the juice category with BluePrint, an innovative leader,” said Irwin D. Simon, founder, president and chief executive officer of Hain. “We look forward to working with … the entire BluePrint team and to expand BluePrint into a global business.”

The acquisition is expected to close by the end of calendar year 2012 and is expected to be accretive to Hain’s earnings is fiscal year 2013. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.
