Wind Point finalizes purchase of Shearer's Foods

TORONTO — Wind Point Partners, a private equity firm, and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan have completed the acquisition of Shearer’s Foods, a private label salty snack manufacturer based in Brewster, Ohio. Terms of the transaction, which was first announced in late August, were not disclosed.

Wind Point currently has investments in four food-related companies, including Hearthside Food Solutions, Nonni’s, Rupari Foods and Ryt-Way Industries.

Teachers’ made the investment through its private equity division, Teachers’ Private Capital. Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan is the largest single-profession pension plan in Canada, with $117.1 billion in assets.
