MINNEAPOLIS — Omaha-based ConAgra Foods, Inc. said it will stop making RyKrisp, a rye cracker made exclusively at a Minneapolis plant.

Dan Hare, a spokesman for ConAgra, said the decision to halt production primarily reflected low demand. The plant in Southeast Minneapolis is expected to close after production ends in March.

The RyKrisp plant was established in the 1920s and employs many people who have worked there for decades. ConAgra purchased RyKrisp in 2013 as part of its acquisition of Ralcorp Holdings, Inc.
