ROSEMONT, ILL. – Broadline food service distributor US Foods has agreed to acquire Dierks Waukesha in Wisconsin. US Foods said the acquisition will strengthen its presence in the Upper Midwest. The transaction is expected to close on Dec. 31. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

US Foods will serve customers throughout the region from both its distribution center in Menomonee Falls, Wis., and the Dierks distribution center in Waukesha, the company said. Dierks employees will join US Foods. Thomas Muehl, one of the owners of Dierks, and Kevin Musser, chief executive officer of Dierks, also will join US Foods.

Dierks Waukesha serves more than 3,500 customers throughout Wisconsin, Northern Illinois, Upper Michigan and Eastern Minnesota. Its customers include fine dining restaurants, caterers, schools and institutional organizations among other segments. Dierks is a leading independent food service distributor with approximately $120 million in annual sales.
