Hormel hires leader for Asia-Pacific

AUSTIN, MINN. — Don Gadsden has been named president of Asia-Pacific, Hormel Foods International Corp. He succeeds Swen Neufeldt, who is transitioning to vice-president of meat products marketing.

Most recently, Mr. Gadsden was director/adviser for PwC Consulting. In his career of 30-plus years, he has been chief executive officer and chief financial officer of Asia-Pacific for multinational companies. In the 1990s he was president of Sara Lee Indonesia and c.f.o. of Asia Pac for Sara Lee Corp. He later was president of Heinz China in 2006-08.

“Don brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the Asia-Pacific region to the Hormel Foods International team and we look forward to his leadership,” said Larry Vorpahl, president of Hormel Foods International. “The Asia-Pacific region continues to be the growth engine for us and we fully expect Don to accelerate our performance through organic growth and M.&A. opportunities.”
