Hormel names new s.v.p. of marketing for CytoSport

Karen Wiernik has been promoted to senior vice-president of marketing for CytoSport.

AUSTIN, MINN. — Karen Wiernik has been promoted to senior vice-president of marketing for CytoSport, Inc., a subsidiary of Hormel Foods Corp. Ms. Wiernik was previously senior director of innovation and business development for CytoSport.

Ms. Wiernik joined Hormel Foods in 2004 as a brand manager in mat products marketing. In 2013, she advanced to senior marketing manager for Specialty Foods. She was promoted to director of brand marketing for Cytosport in 2014 and assumed the role of senior director of innovation and business development for CytoSport in 2016.

“Congratulations to Karen on her advancement,” said Greg Longstreet, chief executive officer of CytoSport. “She has made a significant impact on the CytoSport business since joining the team, and I am confident her experiences will serve her well in this new role. We look forward to her continued leadership and expertise as we continue to grow our brands and our business.”

CytoSport, which Hormel acquired in 2014, produces sports nutrition products under the Muscle Milk, CytoSport and CytoMax brands.
