Mr. Klavsons most recently was president of Glanbia Performance Nutrition, North America, where he was responsible for a portfolio of brands that includes Isopure, Optimum Nutrition, BSN and thinkThin. Earlier, he worked in the convenience retail channel, holding leadership roles for Hess Corp.’s convenience store business, including vice-president of operations and chief marketing officer. He also spent time at Kraft Foods and PepsiCo.

He received a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Clarkson University.

“David has a significant depth of experience in strategy, sales, and operations within the food and beverage industry combined with strong leadership qualities,” said Jeff Outlaw, president of Calypso Brands. “We are looking forward to working with David as we expand upon Calypso’s leading position within the flavored lemonade category through enhanced sales, marketing and innovation initiatives.”

In August, King Juice was acquired by Mason Wells, a Midwest-based private equity firm.
