Philadelphia adds high-protein cream cheese

GLENVIEW, ILL. — Kraft Foods Group pumps up the protein in its latest innovation from Philadelphia Cream Cheese. With 4 grams of protein per serving, compared with 2 grams in a traditional cream cheese spread, Philadelphia 2X Protein contains 70% less fat and calories per serving than leading peanut butter brands. The product is available in regular and honey flavors for a suggested retail price of $3.29 per 7-oz. tub.

Campbell refreshes V8 line

CAMDEN, N.J. — New to Campbell Soup. Co.’s V8 brand of juices is V8 V-Fusion Refreshers, a line of drinks made with a 20%-to-25% blend of fruit and vegetable juices and no high-fructose corn syrup or artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. With 100 calories per serving, flavors include black cherry berry, cranberry grape and tangerine passion fruit. The products are available nationwide.

Fruit Vines Bites debut

UNION CITY, CALIF. — American Licorice Co. is expanding its Red Vines brand of licorice with a soft and chewy bite-size variety. Set for an early 2014 release, Fruit Vines Bites will be available in strawberry and cherry flavors in three sizes: 2-oz, 5-oz and 10-oz bags. The products are low in fat and contain no preservatives.

Bob’s Red Mill rolls out gluten-free pie crust

PORTLAND, ORE. — A gluten-free pie crust mix debuts from Bob’s Red Mill Natural Foods, maker of more than 80 gluten-free mixes, flours, cereals and whole grains. A 16-oz bag of the mix, with butter and water added, yields two 9-inch crusts.

“We strive to provide our customers with a wide range of safe and delicious gluten-free options, from whole grains to flours to cereals,” said Matthew Cox, marketing director at Bob’s Red Mill. “Sometimes they just want a treat, and for those occasions we have a number of delicious baking mixes that people can enjoy with the same confidence as our other gluten-free products.”

The products are available for a suggested retail price of $4.49.

Pizza Hut unveils 3-Cheese Stuffed Crust

PLANO, TEXAS — Marking the first permanent menu addition since 1995, Pizza Hut is launching a 3-Cheese Stuffed Crust Pizza, which features a blend of white cheddar, mozzarella and provolone tucked into the dough.

The original Stuffed Crust Pizza, which generated more than $300 million in sales in its first year, has inspired several spinoffs, including the Crazy Cheesy Crust pizza, introduced earlier this year, the Ultimate Stuffed Crust, which included toppings rolled up inside the crust, and Stuffed Crust Gold, with cheddar cheese.

Progresso adds artisan varieties

MINNEAPOLIS — Progresso, a General Mills brand, is launching its first line of ready-to-serve soups in a Tetra Pak carton. Available in East coast grocery stores, Progresso Artisan Soups contain spice blends and such ingredients as kale, butternut squash and parsnips.

The line features two vegetable bisques, creamy tomato with roasted red peppers and masala curry butternut squash, plus three hearty varieties: rustic tomato with chicken and dumplings, creamy potato with sausage and kale, and smoky white bean and winter vegetables.

The soups are available for a suggested retail price of $2.99.

Land O’Lakes expands sauté starters

ARDEN HILLS, MINN. — Teriyaki joins Land O’Lakes’ line of Sauté Express Sauté Starters, all-in-one seasoned butter squares that are cooked in the pan with vegetables or protein. Adding ginger and sesame flavors to stir-fries in one easy step, the new variety expands a lineup that features garlic and herb, Italian herb, lemon pepper and savory butter and olive oil flavors. The product is available for a suggested retail price of $3.70 for a package of six 1-oz squares.

Greek yogurt dip hits dairy case

LYNNFIELD, MASS. — Four new Greek-style yogurt dips debut from Heluva Good!, an HP Hood L.L.C. brand. Available in French onion, herb ranch, Southwestern chipotle and fire-roasted vegetables, the dips may be used as a marinade, sandwich spread or topping. The products are available at select retailers for a suggested retail price of $2.99.

Bare expands apple chips

SAN FRANCISCO — Chili lime and sea salt caramel are the latest flavors of Barefruit All Natural Apple Chips from Bare. Made with real apples, the baked chips are gluten-free, kosher, vegan and fat-free with no artificial ingredients.

Bare also offers organic apple chips in cinnamon, Fuji Red, Granny Smith and medley varieties.

The products are available at grocery stores and natural retailers nationwide for a suggested retail price of $1.99 to $2.49 per 1.69-oz bag and 99c to $1.49 per 0.53-oz bag.

Rich Products introduces frozen Greek yogurt cakes

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A first of its kind in the marketplace, frozen Greek yogurt cakes from Rich Products Corp. are rolling out at select retailers nationwide.

A better-for-you alternative to ice cream cakes, Jon Donaire Greek Frozen Yogurt cakes come in three varieties: strawberry granola bar cake, chocolate bar cake and mixed berry cupcake.

Marie Callender’s dishes up pasta sides

OMAHA — Easy Sides, a line of microwavable pasta side dishes, debut from Marie Callender’s, a ConAgra Foods brand. Varieties include fettuccini pasta in a Parmesan- and Romano-flavored Alfredo sauce, fettuccini pasta in a chicken-flavored sauce, pasta shells in a butter- and cheese-flavored sauce, fettuccini pasta with parsley flakes in a Parmesan cheese-flavored sauce and fettuccini pasta in a sour cream- and mushroom-flavored stroganoff sauce.

The products are available nationwide for a suggested retail price of $1.25 to $1.69.

Dawn Foods launches Cake Boss mixes

JACKSON, MICH. — Dawn Food Products Inc. has whipped up a line of cake mixes and frostings inspired by the television series “Cake Boss.” Mixes include red velvet, confetti, devil’s food, triple chocolate, yellow and white cakes. Frostings contain zero trans fat and are available in vanilla, milk chocolate, sweet cream cheese and a variety featuring chocolate liquor and two kinds of chocolate.

Aquafina introduces sparkling waters

PURCHASE, N.Y. — Under PepsiCo’s Aquafina brand comes a line of a sparkling water beverages and liquid water enhancers designed for teenage consumers. With zero calories per serving, Aquafina FlavorSplash sparkling waters are available in kiwi strawberry, orange citrus and mixed berry flavors, and the squeezable water enhancers come in strawberry, peach mango and mixed berry varieties.

“In looking at the beverage landscape, we realized there weren’t a lot of better-for-you options designed for and by teens,” said Rebecca Granne, senior director for Aquafina. “With our new Aquafina FlavorSplash products, we hope to inspire creativity and bring out the individuality of consumers all across the country, by encouraging them to mix and match the products to customize their own flavors and have fun while doing it.”
