Ready Pac expands on-the-go meals

IRWINDALE, CALIF. — Ready Pac is launching six single-serve bistro bowl wrap kits. Each kit features produce, artisan tortillas, protein, and a sauce selection. Kit varieties include Thai peanut crunch, garlic and herb Caesar, turkey avocado ranch, buffalo style chicken, chicken bacon ranch, and chicken Caesar. The wrap kits join the Ready Pac single-serve salad bowl line, which includes three new recipes: Italian, BBQ, and kale apple.

GoOrganic debuts fruit chews

HILLSIDE, N.J. — GoOrganic candies is expanding the organic sweets line with the addition of fruit chews. The candies are free from gluten and dairy with no artificial flavors, preservatives, bioengineered ingredients, or colors. The fruit chews are available in ginger and fruit flavors.

popchips rolls out veggie chip line

SAN FRANCISCO — popchips, inc. is introducing a line of vegetable chips created with a blend of nine vegetables, including kale, spinach, tomato, pumpkin, potato, beet, bell pepper, navy bean and chickpea. The chips are featured with three different types of seasonings: sea salt, olive oil, and Tuscan herb. Veggie popchips are produced using heat, pressure, and no oil. In addition, they do not contain trans fat, dairy, or gluten. Veggie popchips are available in 3-oz bags nationwide.

Wonka introduces Peel-a-Pops

OAKLAND, CALIF. — Wonka is announcing the introduction of Peel-a-Pop frozen treats. The dessert pops look like bananas and feature an edible peel. The frozen desserts come in two flavors: vanilla banana and vanilla grape. Wonka Peel-a-Pop frozen treats are available nationwide at Wal-Mart, Target, Safeway and Kroger for a suggested retail price of $4.29 per 8-pop carton.

Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s introduce big chicken fillet sandwich

CARPINTERIA, CALIF. — Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s, business units of CKE Restaurants Holdings, Inc., are rolling out a premium 5-oz breaded and seasoned chicken breast fillet served on a bun with lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise. In addition, a bacon and Swiss version featuring two strips of bacon, Swiss cheese, and ranch dressing is also available. The big chicken fillet sandwich is available for $3.99, while the bacon and Swiss cheese variety is sold at a suggested retail price of $4.99.

Pacific Foods steps up hummus offerings

TUALATIN, ORE. — Pacific Foods is increasing snack offerings with new organic hummus and salsa con queso products. The shelf-stable dips are packaged in B.P.A.-free cartons. Organic hummus is available in classic, roasted garlic and roasted red pepper. The salsa con queso dip is gluten free and produced with cheddar and Monterey jack cheeses, jalapeños, red bell peppers, and creme fraiche. Both dips are available nationwide at Whole Foods Markets for a suggested retail price of $3.39-$4.99 for 12.75-oz packages.

Gold’n Plump upgrades frozen chicken patties

ST. CLOUD, MINN. — Gold’n Plump is bringing two new flavors to the frozen chicken patty offering. The two additions are bacon and cheddar and mushroom and Swiss cheese flavors. Gold’n Plump chicken patties are made with boneless and skinless chicken thighs. The new frozen chicken patties are available nationwide in 32-oz vacuum-sealed packages for a suggested retail price of $8.99.

YoCrunch and Kellogg’s partner to create cereal bowl

NAUGATUCK, CONN. — YoCrunch, a business unit of Danone, and The Kellogg Co. are teaming up to produce the YoCrunch Cereal Bowl. The cereal bowl provides a serving of Kellogg’s cereal such as Frosted Flakes, with YoCrunch yogurt. “We are especially proud of this new partnership with Kellogg’s and this breakthrough offering for the yogurt aisle,” said Steve Platt, chief marketing officer for YoCrunch. “By creating an all-in-one food, we can drive usage occasions for both yogurt and cereal. This powerful brand partnership and unique new design will drive further growth for our customers by expanding both categories.” The YoCrunch Cereal Bowl is available nationwide in 4.7-oz containers.

Annie’s rolls out snack and mini meal kits

BERKELEY, CALIF. — Annie’s is set to debut a lineup of snack and mini meal kits. The kits contain no artificial flavors, synthetic colors, or preservatives. The snack kits are offered in three varieties: almond butter and crackers, hummus and crackers; and gluten free. The mini meal kits include three varieties: white cheddar macaroni and cheese, real aged cheddar macaroni and cheese, and gluten-free rice pasta and cheddar. Each snack and meal kit offers 6-10 grams of protein, 3-6 grams of fiber, and one serving of fruit. The kits are available exclusively at Target for a suggested retail price of $3.99 per kit.

Breyers offers gluten-free ice cream

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. — Breyers is announcing 36 gluten-free varieties of ice cream. Some of the featured gluten-free flavors are natural vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, mint chocolate chip, cherry vanilla, butter pecan, and fat-free chocolate and strawberry. The ice cream is available in grocery stores nationwide for a suggested retail price of $3.99 to $5.99.

Stoneridge Orchards launches new dried whole fruit products

ROYAL CITY, WASH. — Stoneridge Orchards is adding new dried fruit products to the lineup. The additions include chili lime cherries with Tajin for a suggested retail price of $3.99 for a 5-oz bag; Montmorency cherry snack packs for a suggested retail price of $4.99 for a 5-count multipack; and slice peaches for a suggested retail price of $4.99 per 4-oz bag. All fruit is made with no artificial colors, flavors, hydrogenated oils or sulfites.

On the Border debuts smart menu selections

DALLAS — On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina is announcing Border Smart menu items, which are all 590 calories or less. The lineup includes tomatillo chicken enchiladas, grilled chicken fajitas, grilled chicken fajita tacos, Mexican grilled chicken, and mango chicken salad. The items feature ingredients such as seasoned and grilled chicken, pico de gallo, black beans, grilled vegetables, cilantro lime rice, and guacamole.
