J&J Snack Foods releases Minute Maid flavored juice bars

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. — J&J Snack Foods Corp. is rolling out Minute Maid 100% frozen juice bars in flavors such as grape, orange and cherry. The bars are produced with apple juice from concentrate and contain 40 calories per 2.5-oz bar. In addition, the frozen juice bars are gluten- and nut-free.  Minute Maid 100% juice bars are available nationwide in packs of 12 bars at Wal-Mart, Giant Eagle, Kroger, Meijer, Publix, Shop Rite and Wegman’s.

Quaker rolls out warm and crunchy granola

CHICAGO — Quaker Oats, a business unit of PepsiCo, Inc., is introducing warm and crunchy granola. The new variety stays crunchy after being heated and offers 4 grams of fiber ad 32 grams of whole grains per serving. Flavors include honey almond, apple cinnamon, and cranberry almond. Each box of warm and crunchy granola contains eight packages of granola and is sold for a suggested retail price of $3.99.

Rudi’s Organic Bakery innovates with pretzel rolls

BOULDER, COLO. — Rudi’s Organic Bakery is stepping up the bun scene with the introduction of organic pretzel buns. As the only certified U.S.D.A. Organic pretzel rolls on the market, the buns are created with 10 non-bioengineered ingredients. The pretzel roll buns are available nationwide at natural food retailers and select mainstream supermarkets.

EFFi Foods debuts probiotic CareBar

LOS ANGELES — EFFi Foods is launching a product line called Probiotic CareBar. CareBars are U.S.D.A. certified organic, gluten free, non-G.M.O., kosher, and vegan. The handcrafted products do not contain trans fats, high-fructose corn syrup, cholesterol, G.M.O., artificial or added sugars and flavors, and animal or soy protein. To top things off, each bar is infused with dairy-free probiotic. Flavors in the collection include green tea and honey lemon, goji and cashew, and coconut and cacao nibs.

INBalance Health Corp announces new INBar flavors

WAYLAND, MICH. — InBalance Health Corp. is releasing new flavors of the alternative food bars called InBars. Chocolate butter crunch and cinnamon swirl flavors join existing varieties, including chocolate fudge, chocolate mint, cherry chocolate, and strawberry banana. As U.S.D.A. Organic certified bars, InBars are 100% G.M.O. free, gluten-free, vegan, and kosher. In addition, the bars offer 10 grams of fiber, 10 to 11 grams of protein, and are free from wheat, nuts, corn, dairy, soy, eggs, or added sugars. InBars are available nationwide.

Annie’s adds to Bernie’s Farm line

BERKELEY, CALIF. — Annie’s is expanding its Bernie’s Farm product lineup with four new additions, including animal cookies, cheddar crackers, fruit snacks, and microwavable macaroni and cheese cups. The products feature barnyard-shaped bites colored with fruit and vegetable extracts such as beet, blueberry, and carrot. The new Bernie’s Farm products don’t contain artificial flavors or synthetic colors and preservatives.

Mediterra creates Mediterranean nutrition bars

NEW YORK — Mediterra is introducing Mediterranean-inspired nutrition bars to the market. All bars are free of G.M.O.s and gluten. Mediterra’s new line of bars comes in three varieties with two bar flavors in each category. The first category, savory bars, includes tomato/basil/caper as well as olive/walnut/chives. Another category, sesame honey energy bars, includes sesame seed/pistachio/Greek honey and sesame seed/orange/Greek honey. The last section, yogurt and oat bars, features yogurt/oat/cherry and yogurt/oat/apricot pistachio. Mediterra bars are available for a suggested retail price of $1.99.

Alpina innovates with yogurt smoothie product

MIAMI — Alpina is featuring a new and improved yogurt smoothie product that boasts a thicker and creamier texture. The new yogurt smoothies contain 7 grams of protein and 2.6 grams of sugar or less. Flavor varieties include vanilla, mango, strawberry, and strawberry banana. The 7-oz smoothies are available nationwide.

Just Desserts launches line of organic desserts

OAKLAND, CALIF. — Just Desserts is stepping up the dessert category with the introduction of an organic line of treats. The lineup includes organic brownie bites and salted caramel brownie bites. The bite-sized brownies are made without artificial flavors, fillers, or synthetic colors and preservatives. In addition, the brownies are made with whole grains and under 70 calories per bite. Just Desserts brownies are available for a suggested retail price of $6 at Safeway, Pavillions, Vons, and Randalls & Carr’s.

SodaStream and Cooking Light team launches sparkling drink flavors

MT. LAUREL, N.J. — SodaStream International Ltd. and Cooking Light are coming together to produce flavored sparkling drinks without artificial sweeteners, flavors, and preservatives. The beginning of the new flavor roll-out will include Passionfruit-Mango and Kiwi-Pear. “SodaStream is empowering people to customize their beverages just the way they like them,” said Daniel Birnbaum, chief executive officer of SodaStream. “Our partnership with Cooking Light enables people to enjoy homemade, lightly sweetened sparkling drinks made with natural ingredients that are flavorful and pleasing to taste buds.” After regional distribution, the product will be available nationwide at Wal-Mart.

Kraft Foodservice debuts premium macaroni and cheese

NORTHFIELD, ILL. — Kraft Foodservice is releasing a made-from-scratch quality macaroni and cheese. The item is produced with white cheddar cheese and twisted elbow macaroni and will be featured in the new Kraft Simple Signatures premium macaroni and cheese dinner. The product comes in a 7-oz, single-serve, and microwavable frozen pouch.

Cold Stone Creamery releases milk shakers

SCOTTSDALE, AZ. — Cold Stone Creamery is shaking things up in the dessert category with the launch of milk shakers. The milk shakers are available in three flavors: chocolate fudge brownie, vanilla, and strawberry swirl. The products are packaged in 12-count packages of 12-oz plastic bottles.

Dannon debuts dessert creamery

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — The Dannon Co. is rolling out a Dannon Creamery line. The products include a combination of pudding and cheesecake-like delicacies. The creamery features eight dairy desserts with three pudding flavors and five cheesecake-inspired varieties. The pudding flavors consist of milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and vanilla. Cheesecake desserts include strawberry, blueberry, cherry, lemon, and caramel. “This is another example of Dannon leading category growth and it’s not just another flavor or line extension,” said Sergio Fuster, chief marketing officer of Dannon. “Dannon Creamery is the launch of a new category within dairy.” Dannon Creamery products are available nationwide in 5.3-oz cups for a suggested retail price of $1.69.

Post rolls out breakfast shake

PARSIPPANY, N.J. — Post Foods, L.L.C., is expanding into the beverage category with the new breakfast shake product. Post Goodness-To-Go shakes are available in three flavors: Tahitian vanilla, Dutch chocolate, and mocha. The shakes don’t contain artificial flavors, colors, or sweeteners. Instead, the shakes are sweetened with agave, monk fruit and stevia. In addition, Goodness-To-Go shakes pack in 15 grams of protein, 3 grams of fiber, and 170 calories per serving.

Trugman-Nash unleashes Croc Bites

MILLBURN, N.J. — Trugman-Nash L.L.C., a business unit of MCT Dairies, is introducing Croc Bites to the market. The snack-size bites are produced with hormone-free Australian sharp cheddar cheese and crafted with grass-fed milk. The individually wrapped bites contain 90 calories each. Croc Bites are sold in 6-oz retail bags, 18-oz club bags, and 50-count bags.
