Barbara’s announces protein-packed granola line

MARLBOROUGH, MASS. — Barbara’s Bakery is rolling out a new line of granola. The protein-rich granola is available in two flavors: oats and honey and dark chocolate cranberry. Each serving contains 28 to 30 grams of whole grains, 9 to 10 grams of protein, and 6 grams of fiber.

“Barbara’s Better Granola is packed with protein, lower in sugar and fat, and still delivers the delicious granola flavor we all love,” said Katrina Yolen, U.S. director of marketing at Barbara’s. “Not only is our new line of Barbara’s Better Granola a good source of protein that comes from oats, almonds, and wheat, but it also delivers other added benefits consumers are looking for, such as ancient grains and seeds, whole grains, ALA omega 3s and fiber.”

Qdoba releases line of smothered burritos

DENVER — Qdoba is launching a new line of smothered burritos. The menu addition includes three different sauces that are used inside and over the top of each burrito. The sauce flavors include tangy verde, red chile, and smoky chipotle cream. The burritos are packed with rice, beans, a protein of choice, and shredded cheese.

Kettle Brand launches new flavors

SALEM, ORE. — Kettle Brand is releasing three new kettle chip flavors: pepperoncini, roasted garlic and red curry. The chips don’t contain trans fats, MSG, or preservatives. The pepperoncini flavor offers a pepper taste with a hint of vinegar.

The roasted garlic selection includes a butter flavor with a subtle hint of parsley. The red curry addition features coconut and savory spices.

Kettle Brand chips are available for a suggested retail price of 2.99 per 5-oz bag and $3.49 per 8.5-oz bag.

Tostitos debuts roll-shaped chips

PLANO, TEXAS — Tostitos, a leading brand from PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay division, is announcing a tube-shaped tortilla chips. Tostitos Rolls are made for dipping with dips and spreads. The chips are available nationwide for a suggested retail price of $4.29 per 14-oz bag.

Clif Bar releases new flavors

EMERYVILLE, CALIF. — Clif Bar is rolling out two new flavors: berry pomegranate chia and nuts and seeds. The berry pomegranate chia bar includes strawberries, cranberries, pomegranate, and chia seeds. The nuts and seeds variety features almonds, peanut butter, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds. Both flavors are sold nationwide.

Muir Glen launches glass jar tomato line

SEDRO-WOOLLEY, WASH. — Muir Glen, a business unit of General Mills, is debuting a new jarred line of tomatoes. The line features four varieties: fire-roasted diced tomatoes, crushed Arabella select, diced San Marzano plum tomatoes, and crushed tomatillos.

All products contain California-grown tomatoes.

“We were excited to find these new, reusable glass jars to help visually showcase the freshness and quality of our Muir Glen tomatoes,” said Taylor West, marketing manager for Muir Glen. “We also found the re-sealable lids very useful for using a small amount of tomatoes in a recipe and storing the rest in the fridge.”

Little Debbie introduces single-serve pound cake slices

CHATTANOOGA, TENN. — Little Debbie, a McKee Foods Corp. brand, is rolling out single-serve pound cake slices for convenience stores. The pound cake slices will be available in banana nut, homestyle, and lemon. Each 4-oz cake is sold for a suggested retail price of $1.59 per slice.

Alexia debuts premium side dishes

EAGLE, IDAHO — Alexia Foods is releasing new rib-cut barbecue sweet potato fries and a line of premium vegetable side dishes.

The sweet potato fries feature a hint of spicy red pepper and tangy barbecue flavor. Side dish varieties include french herb green beans, Parmesan peas, southern sweet potato blend, and Italian herb corn with sundried tomatoes, each seasoned with savory herbs and spices. The products are Non-GMO Project verified.

Artisan Bistro announces frozen burrito line

IRVINE, CALIF. — Artisan Bistro is introducing a line of artisan burritos. The burritos include ingredients such as gluten-free tortillas, Alaskan salmon, antibiotic-free beef, free-range chicken, and meat-free options.

Burrito selections include beef, jack cheese, and ancho chili; chicken tinga and chipotle; wild Alaskan salmon and poblano; and meatless carnitas and salsa verde. All 7-oz burritos contain 11 to 14 grams of protein.

Artisan Bistro burritos are available at grocery stores nationwide for a suggested retail price of $3.79.

Ready Pac introduces new salad kits

IRWINDALE, CALIF. — Ready Pac is rolling out new salad innovations, including cranberry pomegranate, autumn harvest and Thai varieties. The cranberry pomegranate salad includes arugula, baby greens, radicchio, feta cheese, cranberries, honey roasted almonds and a pomegranate cranberry vinaigrette dressing. The autumn harvest addition features baby kale and spring mix with broccoli and carrots, cauliflower, radicchio, roasted pumpkin seeds, figs, raisins, spiced cornbread croutons and a citrus and brown sugar dressing. The Thai salad includes green leaf lettuce, wonton strips, peanuts and a spicy peanut lime cilantro dressing.
