KANSAS CITY — Consumers want to know where their food comes from, so food and beverage manufacturers are delivering new products featuring locally-grown ingredients.

Baker Maid, a family-owned confection company in New Orleans, is launching a new line of cookies called Love, Cookie. The treats are handmade in small batches with non-bioengineered ingredients and locally-sourced materials. The cookies are available in eight varieties: Almond Toffee Crunch, Espresso Chocolate Chip, Midnight Almond, chocolate chip, Lemon Cooler, butter pecan praline, dark chocolate orange, and dark chocolate mint.

Bodega Barcelona harnesses non-bioengineered tomatoes, cucumbers, red bell peppers and other ingredients from Spain’s local orchards to make its new Mucho Gazpacho beverages. The drinks, which are prepared and bottled in Spain, come in three varieties: Bravo Tomato, Green Gazpacho and Beet Gazpacho.

The Diestel Family Turkey Ranch is now offering a Non-G.M.O. Project Verified Natural Whole Turkey to its offerings. The turkeys are all raised free-range on Diestel’s Sonora, Calif., farm and contain no casein, carrageenan, phosphates, MSG, or artificial ingredients and preservatives.
