KANSAS CITY — New popcorn offerings are popping up in the snack aisle.

Amplify Snack Brands’ SkinnyPop Popcorn brand is expanding its portfolio with new SkinnyPop Popcorn Cakes and microwave popcorn.

New SkinnyPop Popcorn Cakes and Popcorn Mini Cakes are gluten-free, non-G.M.O. and whole grain certified. The Popcorn Cakes are available in sea salt, maple brown sugar and white cheddar flavors. The Mini Cakes are available in sea salt, cinnamon and sugar, and sharp cheddar varieties.

SkinnyPop Microwave Popcorn, packaged in a chemical-free lined pop-up box, is available in sea salt and butter varieties.

“These exciting product lines are natural extensions for a disruptive and beloved brand like SkinnyPop,” said Tom Ennis, president and chief executive officer of Amplify. “We know our simple, transparent and great-tasting ingredients can evolve these categories—the same way they did ready-to-eat popcorn. We're looking forward to sharing other innovations yet to come in 2017 and beyond.”

Jolly Time Pop Corn is launching Simply Popped, a microwave butter popcorn made with four simple ingredients: butter, sea salt, non-G.M.O. popcorn and oil. The gluten-free snack contains 35 calories per cup, zero grams of trans fats and no hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils.

“We’re excited to provide this cleaner microwave popcorn with minimal ingredients to help Americans continue to live their healthy lifestyles,” said Garrett Smith, president of Jolly Time Pop Corn. “We want people to have confidence in and feel good about the foods they're feeding their families.”

Fourth & Heart has partnered with LesserEvil to craft new Oh My Ghee organic, butter-flavored popcorn. The snack combines organic popcorn, Himalayan Pink Salt and savory ghee from grass-fed, pasture-raised cows in New Zealand. The popcorn is kosher, organic and Non-GMO Project verified.

“We are ecstatic to collaborate with LesserEvil as their ghee of choice for the launch of Oh My Ghee popcorn,” said Raquel Gunsagar, founder and chief executive officer of Fourth & Heart. “Fourth & Heart’s ethos and dedication to bringing only the highest quality food goods to consumers, perfectly align with those of LesserEvil. It brings us great joy to see our ghee help reinvent the classic popcorn snack as brought to life by Oh My Ghee.”
