Intesse offers upfront sweetness and a reduced bitterness compared to other stevia sweeteners in such products as frozen yogurt.

BELLINGHAM, WASH. — Sweet Green Fields has introduced Intesse, a proprietary blend of steviol glycosides. Intesse offers upfront sweetness and a reduced bitterness and lingering profile compared to other stevia sweeteners, according to the company.

Bellingham-based Sweet Green Fields will offer product prototypes with Intesse at the Institute of Food Technologists’ annual meeting and food exposition July 11-14 in Chicago. One prototype will be a frozen yogurt with no added sugar.

“Intesse significantly increases the utility of high purity stevia for liquid concentrates,” said Mel Jackson, Ph.D., vice-president of science for Sweet Green Fields. “The sugar-like taste and peak solubility make Intesse an ideal stevia extract for formulating a flavorful no-sugar-added product without any lingering aftertaste.”
