PLANO, TEXAS — 7UP Plus on Tuesday launched two flavors, Cherry and Island Fruit, and provided a glimpse into the new advertising campaign supporting the launch.
7UP Plus, which is a combination of 7UP and fruit juice with calcium, is now available nationwide in three flavors, including the original Mixed Berry and two new flavors, Cherry and Island Fruit.
All three 7UP Plus flavors are low calorie, low sodium, and a good source of calcium. Like the other brands in the 7UP line, 7UP Plus is caffeine free. 7UP Plus is sweetened with Splenda brand sweetener and contains 10 calories, 10% of the daily value of calcium, and 3 grams of carbohydrates per serving.
The new "Supermarket Showdown" commercial shows two strong women who know what they want and will stop at nothing to get it. Marcia Cross and Nicollette Sheridan, both of the television program "Desperate Housewives," meet and compete in the grocery aisle as they take turns trying to one-up each other with the vast quantities of 7UP Plus they can load into their shopping carts. The spot ends with a humorous twist when Ms. Cross walks away the victor after topping off her cart with the 7UP Plus stock boy.
The new ads will run on national network and cable television beginning Monday, Aug. 29. Aimed primarily at women ages 25-49, the campaign also includes radio and print advertising. Print advertising is scheduled to break in September in major women’s publications.
