Foss named to newly created position of c.o.o. at Pepsi Bottling

SOMERS, N.Y. — Pepsi Bottling Group Inc., the world's largest manufacturer of Pepsi-Cola drinks, on Tuesday named Eric J. Foss as chief operating officer.

Mr. Foss, 47, becomes the company’s No. 2 executive behind chairman and chief executive John T. Cahill, a spokeswoman said. In the newly created position, Mr. Foss will oversee the company’s U.S. and Canadian businesses, global manufacturing, corporate strategy and information technology.

Mr. Foss joined Pepsi Bottling in 1982 and has held positions of increasing responsibility in sales, marketing and general management. Most recently he was the company’s North American president.

In other news, the company also appointed Gary K. Wandschneider, 53, to the new position of executive vice-president of worldwide operations, reporting to Mr. Foss.
