CHICAGO — Tropicana Pure Premium Essentials, a new variety of orange juice, will begin appearing in grocery stores nationwide in January. The beverage from Tropicana Products, Inc., a division of PepsiCo, Inc., offers 3 grams of added fiber per 8-oz glass, or about as much fiber as found in a medium orange.
The suggested retail price of $3.49 for a 64-oz carton is the same as that for other Tropicana Pure Premium orange juices. A marketing plan for Tropicana Pure Premium Essentials will feature advertising, public relations, sampling and promotion efforts. The Institute of Medicine recommends 25 daily grams of fiber for women aged 19-15 and 38 grams for men aged 19-50.
"While whole fruit remains an important source of fiber, we wanted to offer another great tasting option for the many people who find it challenging to meet the daily recommendation for fiber," said Debra DeMuth, senior nutrition fellow for Tropicana Products.
