CANTON, MASS. — Dunkin’ Donuts has introduced a new line of smoothies made from yogurt and real fruit. Beginning today, the smoothies will be available throughout New England and Florida, and will roll out nationwide beginning this summer.
The smoothies are available in Wildberry, mango passion fruit and strawberry banana flavors. Each 16-oz serving of the smoothies has 2.5 grams of fat and 360 calories. Depending on flavor, each 16-oz serving also packs in 25% of the Recommended Daily Intake (R.D.I.) of calcium and between 80% to 190% of the R.D.I. of vitamin C.
The new line of smoothies is part of Dunkin’ Donuts effort to expand its snack and on-the-go product offerings, in response to growing customer demand. The quick-service restaurant industry currently serves 296 million servings of smoothies a year with sales representing $1.2 billion per year.
