Coca-Cola to buy bottling operations in Philadelphia

ATLANTA — The Coca-Cola Co. has signed agreements with J. Bruce Llewellyn and Brucephil, Inc., the parent company of The Philadelphia Coca-Cola Bottling Co., for the potential purchase of the remaining shares of Brucephil not currently owned by Coca-Cola.

If the purchase is made, Coca Cola would have a controlling interest in The Philadelphia Coca-Cola Bottling Co.

The potential sale is subject to approval and is expected to occur no later than 2009.
