CONCORD, MASS. — The board of directors for Welch’s has named David J. Lukiewski president and chief executive officer. Mr. Lukiewski succeeds Daniel P. Dillon, who recently retired.

Mr. Lukiewski joined Welch’s in 1995 as vice-president of sales, a position he held until 2000 when he was named senior vice-president of sales. In 2003 he was appointed senior vice-president of global sales and marketing, the position he held before being named president and c.e.o.

During his tenure as senior vice-president, Mr. Lukiewski led Welch’s corporate domestic sales and marketing and international organizations with responsibility for all customer and consumer activities. He helped initiate international market roll-outs in China, Mexico and the United Kingdom while successfully refocusing the company’s marketing efforts on its core business – purple grape juice made from Concord grapes.
