Slim-Fast launches products for dieters with special needs

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. — Slim-Fast, a Unilever brand, has created new weight-loss shakes for lactose-intolerant and gluten-sensitive consumers.
The new line of meal replacement shakes, called Easy to Digest, is available in chocolate, vanilla and coffee flavors. The shakes are lactose and gluten free, and also feature enhanced nutritional benefits to compensate for the nutritional deficiencies of a dairy or gluten-free diet.
Easy to Digest shakes contain higher levels of vitamins B6, B12 and D and are an excellent source of vitamins C and E. Each shake contains180 calories, 50% of the Recommended Daily Value of calcium and 10g of protein.
The new line of shakes is available at major retailers nationwide for a suggested retail price of $5.49 for a pack of four shakes.
