CHICAGO — The Gatorade Co., a division of PepsiCo, has announced it will introduce sports performance beverages for athletes in collaboration with professional golfer Tiger Woods.
The first product will be called Gatorade Tiger and it will be launched in March 2008. The product will be a subline of Gatorade Thirst Quencher. It will be available in three flavors, cherry blend, citrus blend and grape, and will come in a 500-ml bottle and a 32-oz bottle.
"Gatorade has been part of my game plan for years, whether I’m training or competing, so this is an ideal match," Mr. Woods said. "Gatorade is a winning brand with a proven formula and the science to back it up…I’m eager to launch my first signature product in a few months and look forward to developing additional sports performance beverages with Gatorade in the coming years."
This is the first licensing deal for Gatorade and Mr. Woods’ first endorsed sports beverage.
