ANAHEIM, CALIF. — Crayons Inc. has launched an all-natural sports drink called Crayons in three flavors — playoff punch, leaping lemon-lime and breakaway berry.
"There are 58 million kids, including my own, who are playing sports and have special hydration needs that nobody’s been addressing," said Ron Lloyd, chief executive officer of Crayon’s. "As a parent, I’m thrilled to finally have a healthy sports drink option. My children stay hydrated because Crayons taste great. My wife and I love that the drinks are full of nutrition with no high-fructose corn syrup."
The new drinks have low amounts of organic evaporated cane juice and a moderate amount of sea salt along with vitamins, electrolytes and minerals. The drinks come in 8-oz cans and contain 50 calories. The product also has no high-fructose corn syrup, dyes, artificial sweeteners or preservatives and will be available nationwide in late April for a suggested retail price of $1.49.
Crayons Inc.’s also has a line of juice drinks, which were launched last year. The juice drinks come in flavors of outrageous orange mango, tickled pink lemonade, wild watermelon and berries, redder than ever fruit punch and kiwi strawberry.
