Smucker, Starbucks raising coffee prices

ORRVILLE, OHIO — The J.M. Smucker Co. said it is increasing the price by an average of 11% for the majority of its coffee products sold in the United States, primarily consisting of items sold under the Folgers, Dunkin’ Donuts, Millstone, and Folgers Gourmet Selections brand names. It is the fourth price increase J.M. Smucker has implemented in the past year.
“The increase in price is driven by sustained increases in green coffee costs,” J.M. Smucker said.
Separately, Seattle-based Starbucks Corp. said it will raise the price of its packaged coffee sold in U.S. retail stores by an average of 17%. The company earlier this year raised the price of its packaged coffee sold in grocery stores by an average of 12%.
