SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA — Amcor-Sunclipse — the North American unit of Amcor, Ltd. of Sydney — has announced it is beginning U.S. production of its TrayBon oven-able bakery packaging. The product line permits production, baking and transport of bakery products in the same packages in which they are sold.
"The very positive market reaction to TrayBon makes domestic production a necessity," said Bernie Salvatore, vice-president of marketing for Amcor-Sunclipse. "The simplified logistics will permit us to shorten lead times, more easily offer special designs for niche markets, and provide even higher levels of customer service."
First sold in the United States in November of 2005, the product previously was produced at Amcor’s Botany facility, outside of Sydney, and shipped to America by container ship.
"Despite the challenges of bringing product (literally) half way around the world to U.S. customers, sales growth of TrayBon has been consistently strong," said Steve Percifield, director of TrayBon Bakery Packaging Systems. "With domestic production, we can improve our service levels as well as the value of our products."
