Frito-Lay celebrates 75th anniversary with retro packaging

PLANO, TEXAS — Frito-Lay North America, the convenient foods division of PepsiCo, Inc., this month is celebrating the 75th anniversary of its Fritos Original Corn Chips by rolling out retro packaging.

During the month of February, bags of Fritos corn chips will feature The Frito Kid, who previously appeared on product packaging and television advertising.

"We’re proud to celebrate 75 years as a classic, crunchy snack, and are looking forward to bringing back the Frito Kid packaging to celebrate our heritage."

The Frito Co. was founded in San Antonio in 1932 by C.E. Doolin.
