CORTE MADERA, CALIF. — Il Fornaio (America) Corp. has entered into a definitive lease agreement for its first East coast restaurant in Reston, Va. Il Fornaio owns and operates 22 full-service Italian restaurants that serve Italian cuisine. The company also operates three whole-sale bakeries that produce more than 100 varieties of baked goods for sale at their own locations and to grocery stores, coffee retailers, hotels and other restaurants.
The new location in Reston will serve lunch and dinner seven days a week and will offer weekend brunch. The restaurant will seat 150 guests and include a full bar and private dining room that will seat 50.
"This is a very exciting time for Il Fornaio," said Mike Hislop, chairman and chief executive officer of Il Fornaio. "This month, we celebrate the one year anniversary of the Corner Bakery Cafe acquisition. This spring we’ll open our new state-of-the-art artisan bakery in southern California. This summer we’ll open our first East coast Il Fornaio restaurant in Reston and later this fall, we’ll celebrate the 20th anniversary of our oldest restaurant here in Corte Madera. Two-thousand seven should be a blockbuster year for us."
