SMITHFIELD, VA. — Consumers will have the opportunity to buy Subway-branded meats and cheeses at their local grocery stores according to an agreement with Smithfield Deli Group, a division of Smithfield Foods. Beginning this month, Smithfield will start a one-year test of Subway-branded deli meats and cheeses to be offered in the full-service deli counter at retailers and grocery stores nationwide.
Subway-branded deli meats and cheeses will include bologna, Virginia ham, Genoa salami, pepperoni, oven roasted turkey, roast beef, Swiss cheese, Provolone cheese and white American cheese. The selections will be available this month at Pathmark grocery stores in the New York and New Jersey metropolitan areas and expand to other retailers and throughout the first half of the year.
