SINGAPORE — Burger King is positioned to enter downtown Hong Kong in December 2007.
Expanding the company’s territory has been made possible as a subsidiary of Burger King Holdings Inc. has awarded development rights for Hong Kong and Macau to a subsidiary of North Asia Strategic Holdings Ltd.
"We are excited to expand the Burger King brand into downtown Hong Kong, adding to our existing locations at the airport and The Peak, one of Hong Kong's most popular tourist attractions," said Peter Tan, president of Burger King Asia Pacific. "Hong Kong consumers have embraced Burger King, and we look forward to bringing the unique taste of the flame-grilled Whopper sandwich to the rest of Hong Kong and Macau."
Burger King has more than 11,100 restaurants worldwide and approximately 90% of the restaurants are owned by independent franchises.
