Coca-Cola acquires Brazilian bottled tea company

SAO PAULO, BRAZIL — Coca-Cola Brazil has acquired Leao Junior S.A., a bottled tea maker.
The acquisition allows the company to incorporate 60 products into its brand portfolio, including Matte Leao. Leao Junior is headquartered in Curitiba and has three factories with dry lines and ready-for- consumption products.
"With the acquisition of the Leao Junior, we have increased much more the high-quality products portfolio, which is available to our consumers, offering them several choice options in accordance with his/her moment of consumption and lifestyle," said Brian Smith, president of Coca-Cola Brazil. "In addition, this acquisition can make it possible to have synergy with the Coca-Cola Brazil’s system."
Coca-Cola Brazil will keep Leao Junior’s top management team.
