CLEVELAND — Pierre’s Ice Cream Co. is introducing a new line of sherbet called Hola Fruta!
Meaning "Hello Fruit," Hola Fruta! comes in seven flavors: margarita, peach, pina colada, pomegranate, pomegranate-blueberry, raspberry and strawberry.
"Growing consumer interest in antioxidant rich fruits such as pomegranates and blueberries, as well as interest in frozen deserts that taste spectacular, yet contain very little fat, was the inspiration behind Hola Fruta!’s exotic and highly innovative sherbet flavors," said Shelley Roth, president. "At Pierre’s, we have a long-standing tradition and have remained 100% committed to creating frozen treats of the highest quality for the entire family. We felt there was a need for development and innovation in the sherbet category and tapped into the market’s growing interest in fruits such as pomegranate."
Each of the seven flavors has between 130 and 150 calories per half-cup serving and is cholesterol free. The new sherbet is sold in paper quarts and pints with the quarts ranging in average price from $4.79 to $4.99 and the pints ranging from $3.79 to $3.99.
Pierre’s has more than 235 products and flavors.
