CHICAGO — This summer Wrigley will launch a new sugar-free stick gum called 5.
The new gum will come in three flavors: spearmint, peppermint and cinnamon. It will be packaged in 15-stick envelopes.
"5 appeals to the sense and is the most exciting development in sugar-free stick gum since the launch of Extra more than 20 years ago," said Bill Perez, president and chief executive officer.
Martin Schlatter, Wrigley’s chief marketing officer, said the gum specifically targets teenagers as they are the most frequent group of gum chewers.
The new gum will have a suggested retail price of $1.49 for individual packs and $3.49 for a three-pack.
