CINCINNATI — Ampac Packaging L.L.C. has acquired Mohawk Northern Plastics, a packaging manufacturer that provides products for the food, beverage, home and garden and industrial markets. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
With the acquisition, Ampac will operate 11 manufacturing centers in North America, Europe and Asia. The company employs about 1,200 people and has annual revenues of $300 million.
Mohawk recently invested in extruding, pre-press and process printing equipment — significant assets necessary to be a leading frozen food flexible packaging company.
"Beyond the many financial and strategic considerations supporting this acquisition, Mohawk’s dedicated and skilled employees and leadership team are the driving force behind our two companies coming together," said John Baumann, president and chief executive officer of Ampac. "I’m confident Mohawk’s leadership team will continue to grow this business in new and existing markets."
Mohawk and its 220 employees will become part of Ampac Flexibles.
