Del Monte Foods introduces new energy drink

SAN FRANCISCO — Del Monte Foods has introduced a new energy drink, Bloom Energy, designed especially for women.
The drink has 100 calories, a full serving of fruit, as well as vitamins and nutrients. It comes in three flavors: wild berry, cran raspberry and mango passionfruit.
"Bloom Energy was specifically formulated to meet the lifestyle and nutritional needs of active women who are challenged to achieve a happy balance between work, family and self," said Barry Shepard, senior vice-president of marketing and innovation. "Our goal is to provide women with a delicious alternative to the average caffeinated drink, while offering essential ingredients that will energize, refresh and enable women to feel good about what they are drinking."
It will be available in select markets and most major retailers beginning in May 2007 with choices of individual 10.5-oz cans or 4-packs.
