LA JOLLA, CALIF. — Kashi Co. is introducing a new cereal featuring fruits, nuts and whole grains called Kashi Granola.
The cereal has 300 mg ALA omega-3 in addition to being a source of fiber and whole grains.
"Our granola cereal was created for the individual who wants to eat a great-tasting granola with equally great nutrition," said Jeff Johnson, senior brand manager and nutritionist. "Many granolas currently on the market taste great, but do not deliver the seven whole grains and omega-3 found in Kashi Granola."
The mountain medley flavor has sun dried cranberries and raisins, almonds, pecans, sunflower seeds and coconut. The orchard spice flavor includes apples, sweet spices, pecans, raisins and whole flax seeds. Grocers will begin carrying the cereal nationwide this month.
