GREELEY, COLO. — Wesley Mendonca Batista will be president, chief executive officer and a director for Swift & Co. after the completion of the company’s sale to J&F Participacoes S.A.
Sam B. Rovit, who has been president, c.e.o. and a director for Swift since July 2005, will step down from his responsibilities after the completion of the transaction.
"I am very proud of Swift’s achievements over the past two years, namely the dramatic improvement in our U.S. beef business while maintaining our industry leading positions in U.S. pork and Australian beef," Mr. Rovit said. "I am confident that Wesley and the entire JBS/Swift team can collectively take the company to the next level as a leading global provider of beef and pork."
Mr. Batista is executive director of operations of Brazil’s JBS S.A., the vice-president of the board of directors and is a J&F partner. He is in the JBS founding family and has been in the beef industry his entire career.
