GREAT FALLS, MONT. — General Mills, Inc. will eliminate grain trader positions at its Great Falls mill, centralizing grain trading at its Minneapolis headquarters.

Five positions will be eliminated at the Great Falls flour mill, General Mills spokeswoman Heidi Geller said. The change was made to consolidate operations at the Great Falls facility and to improve business efficiency, she said. The transition is set to begin July 1 and will continue for several months.

The change will not affect grain receiving or flour milling operations at the Great Falls mill, the company said. Producers will contact General Mills’ traders in Minneapolis to sell their grain to the Great Falls facility. Grain growers in the area were notified of the change by letter in early June.

No changes were made in grain trading operations at other locations, Ms. Geller said.
