Polk joins G.M.A. board; 23 more companies members

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.VA. — The board of directors of the Grocery Manufacturers Association (G.M.A.) elected Michael B. Polk, president, Unilever Americas, to its board of directors at the association’s annual meeting held in conjunction with the G.M.A. Executive Conference.
"Strong board leadership is critical to the advancement of G.M.A.’s ambitious public policy, industry affairs and scientific goals," said Cal Dooley, president and chief executive officer, G.M.A. "Our membership will certainly benefit from the experience and insight that Mike will bring to the boardroom."
The association also welcomed 23 new member companies.
Joining the G.M.A. general membership ranks are Aurora Organic Dairy; Kettle Foods, Inc.; MaMa Rosa’s L.L.C.; Michelina’s Inc.; and Villalba Canning Co. Yum! Brands, Inc. was welcomed as a new affiliate member. New G.M.A. associate members include Agile Software; AOL; Avery Dennison RFID; BearingPoint Inc.; DSM Nutrition; EHS Partners, L.L.C.; Freight Handlers Inc.; Jones-Hamilton Co.; MEB Consulting; NPD Group; Praxair Inc.; QAD Inc.; RHR International; Shook, Hardy & Bacon L.L.P.; T3Ci; Terra Technology; and Weber Distribution.
"This influx of new members speaks not only to the value proposition of GMA membership, but to the commitment of the industry to G.M.A.’s mission of creating value for consumers," Mr. Dooley said.
